Anthony I Shin

As first time home buyers, my wife and I can easily say the process was completely different from what we expected…in a GREAT way. We heard nightmares about how the process was tedious, difficult, heartbreaking and time-consuming, but for us, this was not the case. Arturo was flat out amazing. Aside from the fact that we created a life-long friendship, Arturo is as professional, pleasant and as fun as they come. We had 24-7 access to his direct line and e-mail, which he always promptly responded back to (yes, at any time). Any time we had questions, he had answers [he even showed us a few household tricks for home upkeep that blew our minds; I’d suggest asking him what they were :)]. Any realtor can take a phone call, show you a home, and mindlessly tell you that the home is “great!” and “beautiful!”, but there aren’t many that will tell you the bare honest truth about what YOU are looking for and how a house stacks up to your expectations. For one, Arturo knows what he is talking about. His experience was immediately clear when he explained concerns to us after we simply walked in a home and took a cursory sweep. The concerns were not typical ones like “the floor needs fixing, the walls need painting”; the concerns were along the lines of explaining that ventilation was likely made in a particular way, which would require certain adjustments to alter particular appliances should we decide to go in that direction; or, explanations of WHERE concerns like mold or bugs were coming from (and actually showing us where they are coming from), unlike just stating “there seems to be a mold problem”. Questions about hardwood flooring, fixtures, appliances, renovations, and the like were all fair game as Arturo was able to provide PRACTICAL advice and knowledge, which allowed us to think of not only the present decision of buying a home but also our lives after the purchase. His light-hearted approach to a very serious time (for many) made the process not bearable but actually very enjoyable. Most importantly, Arturo NEVER…EVER… pressured us…about ANYTHING. There was no vulture mentality or “seller’s” mentality that made us feel uncomfortable or rushed. We were always able to take our time, think about what we wanted to do and advised properly before we made any decisions. HOWEVER, when we wanted to “pull the trigger” on a home, Arturo was incredibly fast and efficient. To put it all in perspective, we found a home we liked at 8:00 P.M. on a Friday, we told him at 9:00 P.M. that we wanted to see the house the next day, the next day at 9:00 A.M. we were in the house, we put in a bid by 11:00 A.M., we closed by 7:00 P.M. that same day, and signed our closing documents exactly 30 days out. Sounds crazy, but the process was so seamless, it actually felt like it took way too long. I guess that’s what happens when you have a great realtor 🙂
